AAEM 26th Annual Scientific Assembly Cancelled

As AAEM continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, we have determined that it is in the best interest of our members and attendees to cancel the 26th Annual Scientific Assembly in Phoenix, AZ, April 19-23, 2020. We understand that emergency physicians serve at the frontlines of the containment and treatment efforts and it would be irresponsible to our members and the patients they serve to take them away from their homes and work.

In addition, we recognize that many institutions have implemented travel bans that would prevent both attendees and speakers from traveling this spring.

AAEM has contacted AAEM20 participants to let them know that the meeting has been cancelled. Attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and other key stakeholders have been contacted with further information regarding next steps. Full refunds will be issued, but may take up to 4-6 weeks to process.

Attendees should contact the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown or other hotels that they may have booked with to cancel their reservations. If you are staying at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, you will need to cancel at least four days prior to your stay to avoid cancellation penalties. Click here to cancel your reservation online. If you are not staying at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, please be mindful of your hotel’s cancellation policy.

AAEM would like to sincerely thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this difficult time. We would also like to thank all of our emergency physicians for their continued service to their patients and communities. The work they are doing is vitally important and AAEM recognizes that and commends them.

If you have urgent concerns or questions, please contact us at info@aaem.org.
